Good reel for a pole I just bought?
At the suggestion of a friend, I just bought a St. Croix rod (6'6" moderate action) and Im looking for a good reel to put on it. Im semi-new to fishing and i primarily use spinners or crankbait into lilly pads for bass. I have 2 spinning reels now and ive had my line snapped in the pads a few times so i decided to go with something stronger. I've never had a baitcasting reel so I'm looking for suggestions. Thank You!
There's a ton of good reels in the $100 to $130 range. Abu Garcia Revo S, Shimano Citica 200E, Daiwa Tierra, Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier, and some others. The Shimano Citica 200E would be a good choice, spool it with 12 or 14lb if you're fishing that thicker stuff.
