Digital Control Casting

Hi,

I have internet ok. My landlord has cable and I have a modem hooked up which the lights all blink and my computer says connected. but, when I click on to the internet to sign in, it gives me the com-cast round about; where as I have to enter in account number and all this info and then maybe if I breathe right then I can get on online. So I until then I have to use the internet at the library. I tried calling them and I found my landlord has to call up. Why is life so hard? Why can't I just friggin log on to my computer there's obvious internet but it has to be turned on the by the ISP side. My landlord doesn't respond to my emails and I'm tired to bugging her. Is there a way to get online or do i just have to friggin get my own internet connection. Why does ISP have this control?? If I have digital connection and internet too..shouldn't I just be able to go online without using com-cast enter information first and then get on-line.

Frustrated! Help!
