Fish Crank Bait

I can't seem to catch big fish?
I live in North-central Georgia and fish alot of lakes in neighbor hoods and off roads. The lakes aren't too big but they are a decent size. I fish for bass mostly. All i have ever caught in any of the lakes are Bream & Bass. The biggest fish i've seen caught is 2 lbs max. Is it just because there are only small bass and bream in these lakes? I fish crank baits & plastic worms. How can i land the big one?
Use bigger baits for one season big frogs at dusk big crawdads (especially if the ponds are spring fed fish the tributary) and fish them standing way back maybe fifteen feet from the shoreline. Fish in ponds are sideline watchers and big fish get big by being smart. If you move into their horizon they see your profile as a threat and shut down or go to the opposite side of the lake and I'd bet if you used a four inch bream as a bait you would catch some wall hangars (please just take a picture and release them though) if there are over hanging trees walk up from behind them and drop a big lizard under it. At least close enough to it to let the bass think it fell in the water from out of it. Also after mid summer when it's hot and algae is thick try casting thirty feet ahead of you onto the beach and dragging the bait into the water back to you. For this I would be using the biggest worm in red shad you can find and swim it back to you kind of fast making it look like a snake...
good luck this year
