Need help with loading a freshwater tackle box?
I'm about to go freshwater fishing next weekend and I have never bought tackle box or lures or anything before. What do i need to fill the tackle box? What size sinkers or what kind of lures do i need? Kinda confused. I know some of the fish that are in the area are bass so, and other small pan sized fish. If someone could give me some pointers I'd appreciate it
It depends on your reel and rod but this is what I would put in it
#2-6 baitholder hooks but I would rather buy the 50 pretied pack
#10-14 baitholder or salmon egg hooks for the panfish but again I would buy the pretied pack
1/8-3/4 bass caster weights
Split shot weights but buy the variety pack
1/8-3/4 egg sinkers in case you want to fish bullhead or catfish
1/0-5/0 hooks for catfish
8-14lb line or 14-20lb if you are going for the heavier species
Swivels with 14-20lb test
Plastic worms you choose but the walmart regenade brands are more inexpensice and works just as well
Spinner lures such as Joe Flies
Jigs- you can buy whatever but this is more effective if you have a boat
Anise scent- I found this at Big R
Salmon eggs - works well for panfish and not very messy
Long nose pliers
Pocket knife-buy the regenade one it is only 4 bucks
Small flashlight if possible
Lighter a must have
disposable plastic poncho cost 88 cents and is very small
Stringer, use rope because it is more versatile
