Can people read this and honestly say that chimps aren't human-like?

Where did you get that "we came from monkeys" out of this???
All I am pointing out is that chimps learn and create tools to aid their survival, just like early humans did and many humans still do. We all share a common ancestor. Some people just don't understand the point of something unless it is spelled out word-for-word for them.
Humans recognize chimp facial expressions with 85% accuracy. Our accuracy with human facial expressions if 93%. Not much higher.
A chimp and a human laughing sound remarkably similar. And think about that "WOOOO!" sound we make when we're excited. Chimps make the exact same noise.
And these are all basic observations, not even delving into all the scientific proof of our relation to primates. People who say they honestly see no connection between humans and other primates are deluding themselves.
I think they just want to imagine that they're "special" somehow. Sad.
