can i use a flatfish lure for ice fishing?
i got these flatfish lure and they look good for ice fishing but ive heard there mainly used for there action when casting or trolling, id probaly be using this for pike and walleye and a little bit of trout. and also while im at it will a five of diamonds spoon work for ice fishing pike?
flatfish, no. they must be kept moving horizontally (as mentioned). they do not work as a jig.
the spoon will work as an ice fishing lure. should work quite well. probably also be taken by walleye and lake trout also.
you can also use the spoon (sans hook) as an attractor to a bait fished just below it.
