I have only ever fished with a single fly on my leader, however when using more than one fly on your leader, are the flies attached a various points in a straight line on the leader, or do you attach more leader to the main leader using dropper loops? I'm guessing that in the case of nymphs, it would make more sense to me to have the heaviest fly on the tip of the leader perhaps.
don't bother you will spend most of your time untying bird nests or setting up a new rig. you could look up the new zealand method of tying 4-6ft of line off the bend of the hook once of twice but i do not like this method or you could tie a half blood knot at the head of each fly but i feel personally Both methods effect your chances of hooking a fish and if you do get a fish hooked your leader may be too long to land it. google new zealand method there is a web site with a number of methods as well as the fore mentioned.
