Fly fishing question?
Could i use a regular lure on my fly rod such as a yozuri or x rap?? Or could i use a hook and worm??? And what a good not expensive line that a beginer would be able to cast further?????
The whole point of a fly setup is that you are casting something at the end of your line that has no weight. The line itself provides the weight. As you know, in the fly casting process you build up momentum, with the fly following the heavier line. Put the heavy weight of a conventional lure on the end of the line and the whole process would be upset. The speeds and changes in direction the lure would be subjected to would be enormous and I think the whole thing could be very, very dangerous. Treble hooks on a weighty lure whizzing past your face at hundreds of miles an hour could do you some very serious damage indeed.
My advice is not to even try it. You can buy a lure rod and suitable spinning reel for relatively little. They will work better and will be a lot safer too.
