Why isn't my baby duckling eating, drinking, and pooping? Urgent?
I got a young black duckling at the feed store today at 3 pm central. I let him run around with my other chicks when I got back. I just put him in his house with food, water, a shallow dish to "get wet in", a box with straw in it for him to sleep in, and put a soft microfiber towel in the box as a "bed." Since I have a rooster and I don't know the duck's gender, I supervised him all day. As I watched him, he hasn't touched his food, water, and he isn't pooping at all. He only had about a millimeter of poop come out today. I'm very concerned about him, but he's acting very lovey with me. Any solutions would be great!
I watched him all day. Never took my eyes off him.
I'm not going to force him to eat.
Hes most probably very nervous especially that hes living in complete new surroundings and hes not with the other chicks.
Give him some time to get used to it but if the problem persists then call your local veterinarian.
