What crankbait to get?
I having a hard picking which crankbait to get for bass fishing the rapala husky jerk or the strike king pro model 3 crankbait. PLEASE HELP!
I personally have had luck with a Bomber Model A in the dark brown or green crawdad colors.
Many years back, I subscribed to a regional sports magazine that had a section in the back that showed photos sent in by hunters and fishermen. I started paying attention to the lures that were mentioned in these prize catch photos. I saw some that were repeated quite often, such as plastic worms.
When it came to crankbaits, I often saw crawdad colored crankbaits listed. (Often the brand was not listed, but the color was.)
A different color or pattern may work better in your area (especially if the fish aren't used to feeding on crayfish.).
The two lures you have listed are both good, but do you have to pick just one?
It is possible that one may work better on one day, and then if conditions changed the other might be better on another day. Some days they may be equal.
My advice is to get a lure brand and color that you will have confidence in. Bill Dance (pro fisherman) used to say confidence is the most important lure in the tackle box! If you don't have confidence in the lure, you won't fish it right.
