Thinking about moving to Atlanta or Tampa?
I am married with 3 kids and planning to move from PA to either Atlanta or Tampa. I have been to ATL before and love it, but do not know much about the Tampa area besides what I researched. I'm 29 and just got my BA in Business, and my background is in customer service, sales, and insurance. Which city should I go with? I’m looking for a lot of diversity, better job opportunity (even though the economy is horrible) and good night life!
Funny that you mention those two cities, for I had to decide between Atlanta and Tampa (where my mom lives) sixteen years ago. I spent time in both cities and ultimately chose Atlanta -- which is a decision I haven't regretted.
As a young mom, you'll probably prefer the schools in Atlanta. We have the lottery-funded pre-k program and HOPE scholarship, which is an important factor when your kids enter college.
Homes are affordable in Atlanta, and you don't have to worry about home owners insurance being revoked, which I hear is happening in Florida.
Atlanta offers diversity, culture, world-class restaurants, more job opportunity (though unemployment is now higher than the national average. But that will change....) The only thing that Tampa has over Atlanta, are the beaches!
