Which state/s have the best freshwater fishing?
I am considering moving to a different state. I have been an avid fisherman my whole life. I want to move to a state this is warm year round and also has waters with abundant trophy fish.
Favorite Species (in no particular order):
-Largemouth Bass
-Smallmouth Bass
-Northern Pike
-Musky
-Walleye
-Crappie (and other panfish ie bluegills)
For the most part I just fish for whatever bites (usually bass), but I'd have to be near waters that are known for trophy pike and/or Musky.
Does anyone know which warm weather states/cities/lakes/Rivers that contains all of these types of fish in good numbers and even better average size.
If I want the best of BOTH worlds...numbers AND size where would you suggest?
Florida, or Georgia would be my first options. Georgia has these gigantic bluegills, the biggest probably in the world. Some of them get 2-3 pounds, and one pond was drained out, and they found a 4 pound bluegill! I agree with the guy that said Lake Okeechobee is a great place to fish, i would give anything to fish that place. It even looks good on the Xbox!!! lmao ... Okeechobee has Walleye, Crappie, Large and smallmouth, and northern pike for sure. I don't know about musky or walleye. You would have to check the local people to see. (There is many fisherman on YA! from Flordia, i think.)
So, for me Georgia or Florida.
Hope i helped ya out.
