Noisy fan on Dell 4700?
Hey guys I need some sort of advise on this issue.
I've got a Dell 4700 with a 3.0 GHz cpu, 2048 MB of Ram
80 Gb Hard drive, and Winows XP Prof
I do not do any games at all but only browsing the web, but the fan won't stop making the noisy even if I open the case and let it run some time.
It does not make it all the time, at times, as soon as I turn it on, the jet flies and won't stop.
In order to dissipate the air, I've added a 120mm fan (cut the side panel to blow air in) I've raised the pc about an inch by hooking some feet, so in the button I've added 2 more fans pulling air out( cut as well) they're 92mm. very silent fans with 17 dba. I also changed the power supply for a 550watts.The original fan blows air out throuhg the green conduct. Now what do I do to reduce the noise (of a jet flying by).
Do I swap the motherboard and cpu?
I'd appreciate sharing any knowledge
THANKS....
Mine used to do that too, until I took the green thing off and blew out all the dust with canned air. The heat sink on the processor was clogged with dust and couldn't cool the processor effectively so the fan had to run harder to compensate. Now that it's clean it is quiet again.
