going fishing tommarow whatwill i get with this?
Hello, im going SURF fishing for Stripers, Fluke, and Blues. I'm bringing with me the following, Pencil Popper(1), Bomber Long "A" lure(1), Fluke Rig(2), Bunker Chunks(2) (making them my self FROM A UN-CUT BUNKER).And all the little assceories I'm going to need like weights(3) and and snap swivels(10).
Please tell me what you think of these, and if I'll get the fish im looking for. Thank-you.
well if your going surf fishing, than the Pencil Popper will not be a very good idea, if your gonna use lures than go with big spoons and buck tails. the bomber long will do...ok if the water is rather calm, other wise no you mite not be able to feel the fish hit it because the waves are always knocking it to and, you'll have trouble keeping the line tight. and the fluke rig is fine as long as it has a wight over 1 oz. the bunker chunks seam like a great idea! this link my come in handy if you what some advise on using them. http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/showthread.php?t=485961
but if you really want to slam the Stripers than use clams cut or whole, a good technique i learned but you need a long shaked "J" hook, get a whole live clam and crack the shell so you can open it up, but don't pull the shell off, open it a little so you can wedge the hook trough the open part of the clam and were the crack is, put the sharp part of the hook out of the crack, so you have a clam rigged somewhat like a soft jig.
