what is the date or era of manufacture of a sears roebuck fishing reel model number 779 414223?
I came across an old spinning fishing reel from sears roebuck. The plate states SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO. NO. 779 414223 with "engineered and designed in calif. u.s.a. , manufactured in japan" cast on the reel... does anyone know the era of manufacture? I found the old reel in my late uncles fishing collection and am curious about it... THANKS!
