What type of fishing rod should I buy?
I want to take up fishing as I live close to a river, I know how to fish as I learned when I was younger. My problem is that I have no idea what type of rod to buy. The rules on fishing in this river say no spinning, bait fishing only and no floats.This river has Salmon, Perch, and Pike. I have no idea if that helps but I'll tell you anyway. I had no idea how many types of rods there were and I need some help.

Is the river current strong, if so, go with something sturdy, not one that has a lot of bend in it. Can't go wrong with the Shakespear Ugly Stick.
