Should I use a float when bread fishing?
Hi there, I am rather new to fishing in general so please don't mind my stupid questions! I recently met two lads while fishing who caught some of the biggest carp i've seen, one over 15IB! I was curious as to how they continuously got bites from the massive species, and asked what tackle they were using. It turned out they were using bread, in which they put the shank (is that right? the rounded bit before the hook, anywho lol) through the soft part of the bread and the hook just gently placed into the crust. They also said they didn't use a float OR any shots, just by wetting the bread and using a gentle cast they managed to catch 3 carp in around 15 minutes, all over 10IB.
Should floats and shots be used while using bread bait?
hey there, for starters there is no stupid questions and the only thing stupid about ones is if it goes unasked. well any ways i would like to say welcome to the way of life that alot of us call fishing. really with the whole bobber and weight that really depends on the person and the fishing method that he or she likes. with fishing without a bobber the fisherman/woman's attention will have to be set on the rod tip and the line either waiting on the rod tip to flex or the line to get tight. that way is a little more tedious but in my opinion it is the best way because the bobber will put a little pressure on the fishes mouth when it runs with the hook and might spit out your bait. but i would recommend (since you are new to the fishing game) to fish with a bobber but make the bobber set your hook at a lot deaper water level. what will give more slack on the line between the bobber and the hook giving the fish more time to swallow your bait and you will still have that visual (the bobber) there for you to know that a fish is on man i hope that this helps you out a bit and i hope that you really grow with the sport learn to love it and stick with it for years on end. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
