why are hand-poured plastics softer and better than machine-made?

i often read that hand-poured plastic fishing lures like worms and swimbaits are softer. isn't this really more of an issue with the plastic formulation used rather than something to do with the method of manufacture? after all, can't they just take the same molten plastic and have a machine pour them? why are hand-poured plastic lures better?

Why is fresh, homemade, bread better than store bought bread?

A machine can never reproduce an individual taking time , & making something from "scratch".

BTW- When making soft plastics from scratch, you can pour at the "perfect" time ensuring a softer bait. Plus, you can use various different types of "plastic". Most machined baits are made by the 10's of thousands every day. And they generally use the cheapest plastic possible.

Thats why they are softer AND more expensive.
