Trout fishing?
Hi.
i live in northern brittany, France. and i live right next to a river.
i am a very amature fisherman, i have a rod with a spinning reel and a strong line,,, but i never seem to catch anything, i use worms as bait,
i go down to the river (it's in the country side, failrly wide and slow.) and cast out,(using weights) and wait for about 4 hours. then after four hours,,,, i go home,,, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG, am i using the wrong bait, is it the wrong hook,,,
could anyone please specify the best ways to fish for trout and the equipment needed,

Don't use weights. Keep flies on or near the surface. Cast out and retrieve giving movement to your flies. Trout like to eat flies and bugs off of the surface of the water. By casting out the trout see what they think are flies or bugs hitting the surface and they strike those movements hoping for food.
If you do fish the bottom or below surface level you need to check your bait once in awhile to make sure it's still there on the hook.
