Do you need a certain type of rod for a baitcast reel?
Could I just use the same rod I currently have with my spinning reel, or do I need to get a specific type specially made for baitcast reels?
No dont use the spincast rod. Even though they dont look much different theres a world of difference in the two. Your spincast rod shoul start off with a big eye and get smaller as you go up the rod. The baitcast rods are all the same, all small.
Having the baitcaster on the spinning rod will cause trouble for you. Go to wal mart and you can get a decent rod for 30-50 bucks. Just be sure all the eyes are small and the same size.
