I think I already answered this. (lol)
Just a note- Your link shows the Ugly Stik Lite Inshore model. I suggested you get the Ugly Stik Lite freshwater model.
Don't confuse "ultralight" with the Ugly Stik "Lite" series rods.
An ultralight rod is designed for fishing ultralight lines, (and is usually very low-action & "whippy".)
An Ugly Stik Lite rod is NOT an ultralight rod. The "Lite" designation means it has a cork handle and less glass making it more appropriate for sensitive fishing VS the original Ugly Stik rod that has a foam handle and heavy glass making it heavier in weight and less sensitive.
Are you looking for an outfit that is more expensive or less expensive?
An Ugly Stik Lite rod (at $40) is the cheapest rod you will find, (unless you find something used or at a garage sale), that can handle Bass, decent-sized CATS and Bluegill.
And the Pflueger President is your best bet for a super-smooth reel with extra aluminum spool, ($40 at EBay).
You just won't find any better quality rod and reel cheaper than $40. Below $40 you are playing "russian roulette" with your money.
Would you expect a car you purchase for $500 to be very reliable or durable?
The problem?
It's very hard to suggest 1 outfit for 3 very different SIZED fish. (IE- Bass tend to be 1-5LB's, Bluegill tend to be 1-2LB's, Cats tend to be 2-12LB's and can get 25-30LB's EASY) It's VERY hard to suggest a rod that can handle the weight of a Cat and the light bite of a Bluegill. If you have the money you should get (at least) 2 different outfit's.
Hope this extra info helps ya?
