cant catch big bass but can catch small ones help?
i live on a lake in minnesota and i started fishing again about 3 days ago i caught 3 farely small bass a large walleye with a dark rubber swimbait at about 8 pm. the next day i casted out with a lipless bright colored crankbait in the morning at about 11 i caught a northern in the morning and nothing else for the rest of the day then i tried again that evening to use the rubber shad and no luck after 20 minutes so i switched to athe lipless crankbait again and after 20 minutes i caught a tiny bass i want to be able to catch bigger bass in the day and at night please give me some tips
ps i live on a dock
small bass are everywhere but big ones might prefer the prime spots. If all you catch are small fish you may need to move beyond your dock because it may just be a small bass hangout (is it particularly shallow and not adjacent to a deep dropoff?)
Also, small bass in most lakes outnumber larger fish several to one due to size limits. People keep the largest fish as trophies while releasing fish under the limit, and over the years that leads to selective breeding stunting the population plus it just plain makes it hard to find fish over the limit in pressured areas. Try a more remote lake.
