Will I get into trouble for a message written at the end of a balloon?
I was at a friends house the other day, and he had a helium tank, so we blew up 3 balloons and tied them together. He also tied a hard, plastic ball that lights up different colors to the string. It's like one of those bouncy balls that lights up different colors, but instead, it's like a hard, plastic material. Well, anyways, he wrote a message on a card, with his address and tied it to the end of the string, saying, whoever finds this please write back. Will we get into trouble for doing that because what happens if that hard plastic ball falls from the sky and hits someone on the top of their head, or hits a car in the road? What if the flashing lights from the ball confuses people, or planes? We didn't think about it at the time, but just wanted to see if someone will respond to it, and to see how far it would travel just because it was a neat idea.
I guess the second worst thing that could happen is you get charged for littering.
The WORST thing that could happen is the balloon lands inside of a prison and you pick up a new pen-pal.
Next time, just send an E-mail address attached to the balloon. That way you don't have to worry about a creepy person finding it.
