Various Spinning Reels
What is the best universal fishing line?
I will be fishing in freshwater streams. creeks, ponds, and lakes from clean and clear, to muddy and mossy, from 1 foot to 50 feet deep. I will be targeting whatever bites - pan fish, bass, carp, catfish, gar, and various other species. I will be using everything from live crickets to large crank baits. I will at different times be using spinning, casting, and spin casting reels. I will be fishing on bottom, using bobbers, trolling, and casting at different times. I just want one line to do all these jobs and I don't care if it is the ultimate choice for every application. I know how to choose the thickness/test.

My choice would be Berkley Trilene in clear castability, strength, durability and have caught VERY many fish of all species with it for many years. I try others and keep coming back to it.
