Choosing the size of a fishing rod?
I currently fish in Montreal in the Saint Laurence river (from shore).

I have caught catfish, sunfish, and walleye. Yesterday I almost caught what seemed like an estergeon! But the line broke since it is only 8lbs line. I have talked to 3 people who said they caught a huge esturgeon (90lbs, 60lbs, 50lbs) and even showed me pics of them with the fish. I would like to start fishing for estergeon, so I am wondering if anyone would know what size rod I should get.

i would fish with a 12ft heavy sea or specimen rod, look on the blank near the butt for recommended line strenghts
