Need help picking tackle for Walleye/Northern fishing?
Hey! I need some help with locating what type of soft bait gear I need to catch Walleye or really anything. I was told to use a jig head and a minnow but I want to use fake bait so I don't have to worry about keeping the bait alive and obtaining the bait before I go out there.
So if I were buying from BassProshop. What gear should I get?
The lake I fish eat around is a lil murky water and right now i'm fishing at a spot that is probably 4 - 6 ' deep. i've been trying the crank bait but the past two times out there I have been skunked.
Thanks
I would love to go deeper however I need a boat because i'm stuck fishing from shore right now.
For walleye I would suggest you get some round 1/2 oz. to 3/4 oz. round jig heads that are colored. Almost any color will work at any given time but I suggest you get many different colors so you can try different ones if they're not biting. For the bait/lure I would get some Berkeley Gulp! Alive Minnows like this: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103793____SearchResults
Put some of this on the jig heads and either troll or cast and reel to get some strikes. Also, I would suggest going into deeper water like around 11-14 ft. range. You might have better luck trying this. Good luck fishin' for them Walleye!
